Powder Day !!! The cloud got stuck on the mountains, and we ended up with 6-8" of new snow on top of yesterday's 3-5", and with the wind pushing everything around, I found anywhere from 0" to 24" ! I've added a couple of movies on Instagram, so click the link if you want to … Continue reading Day 111: March 12

Powder Day at Le Massif !!! I woke up well before the alarm this morning because I was so excited to cash in on all of the powder, and at 6:05am, Hazel and I were having breakfast at Cora. Day 92: Feb 19
It was another cold day (2F) with N winds (-25F windchill), so I decided to elope into the woods of Big Jay mountain, where I knew I would be fairly well sheltered, and most importantly, I would be able to find a lot of untracked powder, because it takes some effort to get there, as … Continue reading Day 92: Feb 19
Day 86: Feb 13
Powder day ! School was cancelled, but the chickadee didn't feel like skiing, and John didn't feel like skinning up and I didn't feel like driving +3 hrs to Stowe in a snowstorm and Finn had to go to UVM. Powder Day !!! Another 8" fell overnight and brought the total for this storm to 38" (nearly 1 meter). The wind was blowing from the NW at 30 knots, temps were in the negative realm and the windchill was -35degF, so it was better to be in the woods than on a chairlift. I headed … Continue reading Day 55: Jan 11
Day 54: Jan 10
Powder Day !!! It's hard to keep track of the amount of snow we've been getting because it's being blown around by the strong NW winds, but Stowe reported 12" overnight, and Smuggs 10" which leaves 20" since yesterday morning and 26" in the past 3 days. As of this afternoon, it is still snowing … Continue reading Day 54: Jan 10

Finn reached the wise age of 16 today ! to celebrate, I headed to Stowe after dropping him off at the GMT bus for UVM. Since the Forerunner quad was down yesterday, most of the higher elevation glades had not been skied much, so I thoroughly enjoyed myself exploring all this new powdered terrain. I … Continue reading Day 18: Nov 29
Day 17: Nov 28
Yesterday dumped a pile of snow, and it was heavy at the beginning, then getting lighter as the storm passed over. This makes for awesome conditions to ski the trees, covering up obstacles, but leaving enough fluff. So John and I headed to Stowe early to explore their glades. Sunrise glades
