Day 25: Dec 8

Since it was -3F (-20C) this morning,  I decided to tour my trail network in the woods. My trails are at 800 ft elevation, so we definitely do not get as much snow as the nearby mountains, where the snowpack get significantly deeper above 2000 ft.

A lot of downed trees need to be liberated from the trails
I may have to do like these guys and ski with a chainsaw for trail maintenance. – google images
The streams are all frozen solid
Hoar frost patterns on the ice.

Hoar frost occurs mostly when there is a lot of moisture in the air.

Can you see the frog under the ice?
