John joined me for the notch road commute today... however, we ended up getting a late start (ski bums need coffee and then newspaper reading time in the bathroom π©), which meant we only had time to take 2 runs on the lift, and then we had to skin back up the notch to pick … Continue reading Day 19: Nov 30

Day 18: Nov 29
Finn reached the wise age of 16 today ! to celebrate, I headed to Stowe after dropping him off at the GMT bus for UVM. Since the Forerunner quad was down yesterday, most of the higher elevation glades had not been skied much, so I thoroughly enjoyed myself exploring all this new powdered terrain. I … Continue reading Day 18: Nov 29
Day 17: Nov 28
Yesterday dumped a pile of snow, and it was heavy at the beginning, then getting lighter as the storm passed over. This makes for awesome conditions to ski the trees, covering up obstacles, but leaving enough fluff. So John and I headed to Stowe early to explore their glades. Sunrise glades

Opening day at Smuggs was so good, we had to do it again the next day ! Finn stayed home to study … Continue reading Day 14: Nov 24

Today was Smuggler's Notch opening day, so Hazel and I grabbed some free vouchers and had a girly ski day on our favorite mountain ! Today I decided to commute to "work" (ie, skiing at Stowe) by skiing over the 3 mile stretch of the Notch road (route 108) which is closed in the winter (the red line). Going around by car adds ~32 miles (the blue line). Blue line shows how to get to Stowe by driving around... Red … Continue reading Day 10: Nov 19
Day 8: Nov 17
John and I used our Epic passes for the first time this year and we rode the lifts at Stowe. The forerunner quad and mountain triple were running, so the lines weren't too long. Conditions were amazing and the run of the day was definitely Hayride which had some huge bumps from the previous day. … Continue reading Day 8: Nov 17
Day 7: Nov 16
Today was a major snow storm, and Hazel didn't have school, but UVM wasn't closed, so Finn had to go...Β It was also opening day at Stowe, but given the nasty road conditions, we decided to explore the backcountry around Fairfield. Lots of powder, but I still managed to grab a few ferns on my … Continue reading Day 7: Nov 16

Some of us have to … Continue reading Day 3: Nov 12
